DESCRIPTION
What is self-adhesive blackout window film?
It’s a self-adhesive polyester film made of several layers of material, including a thin layer of metal sandwiched between an adhesive layer and a coloured layer. The material is quite thick and very effective at stopping daylight from coming through the glass. The black blackout film is slightly more efficient than the white blackout window film, but it can only be applied to single paned clear glass or double glazed units when made of toughened glass.
Our self-adhesive blackout window film comes in either black or white and can be used very effectively to completely obscure a glazed area so that no light can go through, and the view is completely obscured.
Our black blackout window film is designed to block out almost all light penetration (If you require complete blackout film with no light bleed, you might have to add a bead of black/white silicone around the edge of the glass to completely stop the light from coming through), very effective at controlling excess heat and glare to make a room darker or cooler, and also serves to provide comprehensive additional two-way privacy.
It is also ideal for conservatory roofs where it will drastically reduce excess heat and glare making the room more usable all year round.
It comes with a clear polyester protective liner which has no metric grid printed on it. You’ll therefore need a large flat surface, a straight edge and a retractable knife to cut the film to size yourself.
